An article appears online at mlive today titled,
The article describes the finding of the Environmental Law and Policy Center, touting their own efforts in the green energy lobby for the state of Michigan. The ELPC is a leading advocate of renewables, and this article is a result of their own findings for the state of Michigan, if you can believe them, 5 years after former Governor Jennifer Granholm began her work stifling energy production through green energy promotion, promising to “blow us away.”
Let’s put these numbers in perspective shall we?
10,000 people employed in Michigan’s renewable energy sector to other jobs in Michigan thusly:
There are 11 times as many office clerks
There are 11 times as many janitors and housekeepers in Michigan
10 times as many truck drivers
10 times as many cashiers
9 times as many RN’s
6 times as many executive secretaries
There are 4 times as many elementary school teachers and twice as many high school teachers
3 times as many receptionists
2 1/2 times as many carpenters
twice as many bartenders
twice as many fast food cooks
twice as many electricians
50% more dishwashers are employed in Michigan than in the renewable energy sector
Michigan has about the same number of carnival attendants.
So, as Jennifer Granholm joins the Pew Charitable Trust to, just know that in Michigan, it’s not about jobs.
“If the country does nothing,” Granholm said, “then we are comfortable with our jobs going away and our economic and energy security being at the whim of the globe.”
I say we don’t do nothing then. I say we drill for oil and dig for coal. There are actual companies who are online and ready to do so, if only the nation had a coherent energy policy in place to actually produce energy.
